Kids Art & Music Program (KAMP)

Kids Art & Music Program is designed specifically for our pediatric patients and their families in the Hope Child and Teen Program.  Volunteers work in conjunction with certified art and music therapists to provide meaningful activities for children and teens. This is a fun, playful program with activities and simple tasks that engage the patient, family and volunteer. Supplies and training are provided. No art or music experience is required... just a sense of adventure and willingness to play!

“I’ve never painted before. I’m still not great at it, but it takes me to a place where I can kind of let go and not worry about anything.” – Caitlin, a 12-year-old patient

Art and music activities act as a diversion for many pediatric patients. Volunteers provide parents and siblings ways to engage in activities with the pediatric patients. Often, these activities help to strengthen bonds and allow the family to focus on each other, rather than an illness. The special one on one time given to patients as well as siblings has a meaningful impact on quality of life for families in the Hope Child and Teen Program.
