Words cannot express the gratitude our family feels for what Hospice did for us in the last weeks of my father’s life. You made his transition peaceful and painless. Your presence gave us reassurance and confidence. It’s sad as we have lost our Dad, we will never forget the “awe” some togetherness of this time. Hospice made it possible.

Cindy

Thank you for the wonderful team that cared for my husband. Each and every one treated him as a person, not a number. There was no doubt in my mind that his passing was so much easier because of Hope Hospice.

When my sister, Lorene, was admitted to the hospice, I was impressed with the cleanliness, spaciousness and layout of the building and grounds. It is a beautiful facility. I stayed with my sister, in her room, for six days and was so grateful for the Hospice staff of nurses and volunteers. They did everything possible to keep my sister comfortable and free of pain to the end. They were very caring, even beyond duty, not just to my sister but to all of us that were there for my sister. That means so much to the family of the patients. During my stay with her, they provided me with comfort needs and information that helped me to understand and deal with the emotions that accompany the loss of a loved one. The Hope Hospice North staff is to be commended for their devotion and thoughtfulness to their patients and families. It was greatly appreciated. The volunteers that came in to bring pets and entertainment were a much-needed temporary diversion and were welcomed by patient and family alike. Fresh flowers added a lovely touch to the room and the lovely afghans gave the room a sense of home. I was also grateful for the convenience of the Hospitality Room, the cafeteria, the computer, the library and the laundry facilities, during my stay.

I shall never genuinely be able to thank all the staff who responded so givingly to the care of Armand and to me personally. I thank God often for the excellent treatment we received. It is not forgotten.

I really appreciate your kind attention to us these past months. Thank you all, from all of my family. Hope Hospice will always have a special place in our hearts.

Jacqueline

I can’t say enough to express how wonderful Hope Hospice nurses are and may God bless each and every one.

Mae

We wanted to let you know how wonderful we think all the people at Hospice have been to my mother. We could never have cared for her without all of you.

Sue

I would like to thank all of you for your compassion and caring since the day we walked into Hope Hospice. The death of a loved one is never easy to handle. But all of you helped ease our pain. Your follow up is also very much appreciated. We’ll never stop missing Mom, but we have all adjusted fairly well and we are glad that she no longer suffers from the illness.

Frank

Thanks so much for the kindness and superb care given my father, Bill, during the last few days of his life. The wonderful people you have at your Cape Coral facility are truly heaven sent. Our family is so appreciative of everything.

Steve

Thank you for the help from Hospice. It was only for a few days, but meant a great deal to me to have them helping in those final minutes… and to have the medication to make my husband as comfortable as possible. Again, thank you and God bless Hope Hospice.

My mother, Helen, passed away in January. For almost two months prior, we were graced by the services of Hope Hospice. The care provided by our visiting nurse was absolutely marvelous. My mom grew to love her and looked forward to her visits. She was loving and kind, but at the same time very professional and attentive to my mother’s condition. This was comforting to all of us, especially my mother. Our social worker provided by Mom with warmth and sensitivity. She was masterful in dealing with a difficult family disagreement, and this resulted in all family members being on the same page allowing my Mom to take control of her last days and final arrangements. Mom’s massage therapist gave Mom significant comfort through her magic touch. Mom thoroughly enjoyed her and we are all grateful. She was sensitive and gentle, and Mom, though resistant at first, came to appreciate her massages. Thank you for your loving attention to my Mom and to my family. It will never be forgotten.

My mom, Beatrice, died at Hospice House North. I spent two and a half days with mom at Hospice. To spend this amount of time with a loved one who is actively dying can be a beautiful experience or not. For myself, my husband and sister, it was beautiful. Each and every staff member was loving and caring to all of us, not just to my mom. I shall always treasure the vision of Mom just after her passing. I walked into the room with the soft glow of light. Mom was covered in a beautiful pink afghan, an open Bible, bouquet of flowers, and a lighted candle at the foot of her bed. She looked so at peace and so was I. I realize that with each passing day something in my life occurs that I want to share with Mom but she’s not here. I then think of the last time with her, I smile, look up and think “Okay, mom, you already know.” I can only feel this at peace because of our Hospice experience. Please extend my thanks to everyone you can.

I just want to thank all of you for your love and support during this transition period of losing my dear husband back in January 2005. I’ve told everyone how kind Hope Hospice has been, to me, and to my family. Thank you all, for being so kind to us during those last days together.

Clara

A note of thanks for inviting Alex to Rainbow Trails Camp- he had a wonderful time and is quite attached to his “grievance bear.” The bear and his counselor were very instrumental in his finally being able to open up and talk about Ray and his loss. He was his “PawPaw”, the only father he’s ever known, and best friend, so this weekend was wonderful for him. Bless you all for what you do.

Donna

My father, Richard, moved here to Bonita to be with us during his final days. When we called Hope Hospice, they responded the same day with equipment and nursing help. Our nurse is truly an Angel of Mercy. Her spirits and caring for Dad and for us was very special. Everyone helped make Dad’s final days peaceful and as pain free as possible.

Rick and Nancy

I have never had any contact with Hope Hospice before and am absolutely amazed at what you do. Thank you for your wonderful help.

Bill

When we were finally able to recognize that we were no longer doing anything for my grandmother, but rather we were doing things “to” her, the decision to transfer to Hospice care was made as if it was second nature. Almost anyone can nurse a person back to health, but it takes someone extra special to be able to nurse someone into death. By the time my “Meem” was transferred into your car, we knew that the goal was for her to have a peaceful, graceful and dignified death. And that is exactly what she was given.

Your staff went above and beyond the call of duty every day that we were there. When my “Meem” passed, they asked us to step outside so they could confirm her death and prepare her room for us. When we returned, there was a candle lit at her bedside and a Bible opened for us if we chose to read from it. There are no words to express what a beautiful gesture that was. My “Meem” died in the arms of the angels that morning, not just the ones in heaven, but the ones the good Lord has placed on this earth. And he calls them Hospice nurses. From a late night cup of tea to an early morning smile and everything in between, there was nothing your staff could have done differently to make this transition any easier. Please extend our sincerest thanks to all of your staff. We will always be grateful for their kindness in our time of sorrow.

Karen

My son went to Rainbow Trails Camp this month. He enjoyed himself so much. He loved all the staff. It was a weekend he’ll never forget. Thank you.

Brooke

I appreciate all that was done for my husband. Everyone was so kind. What a beautiful place to be. My loved one died with dignity.

Idella

You all do such a good job and you should be very proud in how you help people so in their grief. Just to know that we are not alone and we have someplace to go and meet with people in the same position and share.

Gail

Thank you so much for the great support and counseling your whole team provided in the aftermath of our tragedy. We really appreciated your tremendous help.

Dave

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your services. Without them, I would have been completely lost. Many thanks to you.

Amelia

A sincere thank you to each of you for your kindness and care for my husband, Art. He so much wanted to remain in our home and - with your help - that was possible. We especially appreciated the nurses’ loving care and gentle manner handling his daily needs. We are so glad to see that many friends have donated to Hope Hospice in Art’s memory. Your organization is truly deserving.

Donna
